Monday Evening - Yin Yoga with Sound Bath with Kaya_mudra_yoga

“In Yin yoga we don’t use the body to get into a pose, we use the pose to get into the body.” Bernie Clarke

This class is an invitation to soften, slow down and listen to your unique anatomy. Yin yoga is a slow paced practice where passive stretches and longer holds are used to access the deep fascia, joints and ligaments whilst dropping muscular effort. On the physiological level Yin works by gently “stressing” the connective tissue of our body to create more space and ease in the joints.

Yin yoga is also a deeply meditative practice where you will be encouraged to cultivate awareness of physical sensations and meet challenges with a compassionate attitude. Instead of pushing or thriving, Yin teaches us to soften, to observe sensations, emotions and thoughts that arise and to train our mind to sit in stillness and discomfort.

The class will finish with an extended shavasana with sound healing accompanied by Tibetan singing bowls. Allow the body and mind to be immersed in healing frequencies and vibrations to help the benefits of the class absorb into
you. All levels welcome..

Biography:

Nat was first introduced to yoga in 2010 in Dublin. She enjoyed and explored various styles and soon realized the importance of yoga in her daily life. Nat completed her first 200 hours yoga teacher training in 2017 at Yog Peet in Rishikesh and has been teaching in different Yoga studios in Ireland ever since.  She is also a qualified Yin and Restorative yoga teacher. In 2023 she travelled back to India to complete 300 hours advance yoga teacher training at Yoga Vidya school in Rishikesh.

Dave has been practicing yoga since his teenage years, attending classes with his mum. He started to focus more attention to it once he realised the power of the practice, helping him overcome injuries from martial arts and benefiting his mental health. Dave obtained his 200hr teacher training certificate in 2023 at Yoga Vidya school in Rishikesh, India.

Together they travelled to Nepal, where they trained with their teacher Maya, learning how to offer sound healing with Tibetan singing bowls. We have been sharing these practices in Ireland since 2023 but relocated to Frome earlier this year and we are looking forward to meeting you!
