Saturday Evening - Yin/Yang Yoga and Sound Bath with Kaya_mudra_yoga

THE PRACTICE OF YIN/YANG YOGA HELPS US LEARN ABOUT STILLNESS IN MOVEMENT AND THE FLOW IN STILLNESS” Sarah Power

In this class we blend two styles of yoga into one practice. Yin and Yang are two relative qualities present in everything, like two sides of one coin. Yin cannot exist without Yang; Yang cannot exist without Yin.

This class will be an opportunity to explore and combine Yin and Yang elements creating a balanced practice. We will begin the class with a guided meditation followed by Yin Yoga to calm the mind and experience stillness through passively holding poses to create a quiet space within to observe sensations, thoughts and feelings. From there we transition to the Yang part of the class where we are going to carry over this mindful way of practicing into a more dynamic sequence of standing poses. The class will finish with an extended shavasana with sound healing accompanied by Tibetan singing bowls. Allow the body and mind to be emersed in healing frequencies and vibrations to help the benefits of the class absorb into you. All levels welcome.

Biography:

Nat was first introduced to yoga in 2010 in Dublin. She enjoyed and explored various styles and soon realized the importance of yoga in her daily life. Nat completed her first 200 hours yoga teacher training in 2017 at Yog Peet in Rishikesh and has been teaching in different Yoga studios in Ireland ever since.  She is also a qualified Yin and Restorative yoga teacher. In 2023 she travelled back to India to complete 300 hours advance yoga teacher training at Yoga Vidya school in Rishikesh.

Dave has been practicing yoga since his teenage years, attending classes with his mum. He started to focus more attention to it once he realised the power of the practice, helping him overcome injuries from martial arts and benefiting his mental health. Dave obtained his 200hr teacher training certificate in 2023 at Yoga Vidya school in Rishikesh, India.

Together they travelled to Nepal, where they trained with their teacher Maya, learning how to offer sound healing with Tibetan singing bowls. We have been sharing these practices in Ireland since 2023 but relocated to Frome earlier this year and we are looking forward to meeting you!
