Saturday Afternoon - Introduction to meditation with Paul Glinn - Free Talk
This nourishing session offers a gentle introduction to meditation as a supportive, practical tool for modern life. Together, we’ll explore what meditation truly is (and what it isn’t), demystifying common misconceptions and opening up a range of approaches so you can find what resonates for you.
We’ll spend time looking at stress - how it shows up in the body and nervous system, and why so many of us feel caught in cycles of busyness, overthinking and fatigue. From here, we’ll explore the role that meditation can play in restoring balance, cultivating inner calm, and supporting emotional and mental wellbeing.
You’ll be introduced to the effortless meditation technique that I teach - a gentle, accessible practice designed to meet you where you are, without strain or forcing. We’ll explore the benefits of a regular meditation practice, including greater clarity, resilience, improved sleep and a deeper sense of connection to yourself.
The session will include space for reflection and questions, followed by a guided meditation, allowing you to experience a spontaneous de-exitation of the nervous system, leaving you feeling grounded, calm and replenished.
What to bring / materials
There’s nothing you need to bring with you.
You’re welcome to bring anything that helps you feel comfortable (such as a cushion or blanket), though this is entirely optional. Comfort is key with the technique that I teach, so we tend to sit in a chair, with lower back supported, keeping our head and neck from leaning against anything.
Additional details
A cup of nourishing herbal tea will be offered before we begin, creating a gentle, welcoming space to arrive, settle and connect.
