Thursday evening - Autumn Yoga for Over 50s: Embracing Change with Grace and Ease with Sarah Reynolds

As we move into the quieter, cooler months, give your body the gentle self care it needs. This class uses movement, breath, and deep rest to help you feel strong, supported, and at ease.

Yoga as Medicine: Move, Breathe, Rest

  • Age supportive practices: we will explore movements that build strength, balance and flexibility. This class can help you stay healthy as you age by strengthening your muscles and bones to prevent or minimize conditions like osteoporosis. The class is designed with care to accommodate muscular skeletal issues offering options that respect where your body is today.

  • Joint Health: Gentle practices to "oil the joints" and make everyday movements, smoother and easier.

  • Breathing with movement: Breath-led movements can help improve respiratory function as we get in touch with the mechanics of breathing, and this in turn can support our immune system health.

  • Breathing with awareness: As we explore how we breathe these practices in turn can help soothe the nervous system and reduce our feelings of stress and anxiety or simply feeling rushed throughout our daily lives.

  • Deep Rest: Our final practice is moving into a deep rest to match the quieter season, helping you feel nurtured and supported and giving you permission to rest and to nourish your inner healing. Learning and practicing deep rest can also support your health and allow time to reflect the quieter time of our lives

·       5-Minute Home Practices: this class will offer home practices for you to continue to explore in your daily lives, bringing gentle medicine to your daily routines and helping you move in a more easeful way

Embracing the Autumn Years

Moving into the later seasons of life can feel like both a challenge and a conflict: your mind speeds up while your body slows down. Yoga helps bridge this gap. True to the meaning of yoga as "union," we explore ways to bring harmony back to your daily life.

What to bring: Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat, (I will have spares) and a blanket/jumper/eye pillow for the final relaxation.

Venue: The Round Tower, Black Swan Arts, Frome

Date of event: Thursday 15 October 2026
